Accupuncture
Our practitioners may sometimes incorporate acupuncture into your treatment. Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into specific points (acupuncture points) or into areas/points of pain (ashi points) to regulate the vital flow of energy/qi.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi (pronounced as Chi) is the vital energy or life force that circulates around the body through meridians (channels) in the body. When the body is in a state of good health, Qi flows freely throughout these channels. When the body is in a state of disharmony (which can be caused by many factors such as physical injury, emotions/stress and environmental factors), blockages may occur which impact the flow of Qi. These blockages can lead to stagnation of Qi, blood and fluids, which in the longterm can lead to pain, illness and disease.
At Touch Tuina Catford, we practice many different styles of acupuncture such as Orthopaedic, Spinal, Auricular, Tang, Balance and other Microsystems, all with the aim to rebalance energy flow in the body.
